Hi, I’m Erin, the owner and founder of Koba Swim.
What started as a little dream in the sunny (lol) countryside of the UK somehow became a real thing on the actually sunny beaches of Florida. I realised pretty quickly that the UK just wasn’t the right environment for the creativity and energy I wanted Koba to embody. It needed warmth, freedom, and a slower, more intentional pace.
Truthfully, Koba isn’t my first business. Black Heart Equestrian is. I’m a horse girl by nature, but a beach, sun, and sea lover by heart. Black Heart grew faster and bigger than I ever imagined, and at some point I thought, “f it, how hard could it be to start another brand?” Spoiler: it’s been hard. Really hard.
I’ve made mistakes. I mis-ordered. I mis-sized. I chose the wrong colours, trusted the wrong people, and invested far too much into the wrong things. But every mistake shaped me, and it shaped Koba. It led us here, to what is essentially our rebrand, our reset, and our real beginning.
You’ll notice our logo has changed too. That was intentional. I wanted to shed the old skin and create something that feels more like me, and more like us. The new logo represents growth, softness, femininity, and fun, and a brand that finally feels aligned with who I am now.
Gone are the days of quick fixes and bulk orders. In their place are sustainability, intention, and thoughtful creation. I don’t want Koba to be fast. I want it to be meaningful.
This is where the towel wrap skirt was born. From wanting something functional, unique, and genuinely useful. Pieces that feel considered. Pieces that feel special. Pieces made with love.
And as of now, every single wrap is hand sewn by me, right here in the USA. No factories. No mass production. Just my hands, my time, and a lot of heart in every piece.
You can still shop all of our original launch pieces at a discounted price, because they’re part of our story. But from now on, the way we do things is different.
We won’t be a copy of any other brand.
We won’t contribute to an oversaturated swim market with mass-produced, overpriced bikinis.
Koba is about slow fashion, individuality, and creativity without compromise.
It’s about building something honest, intentional, and a little bit imperfect… just like me.
